Our Annual CGA charity tournament will benefit Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center/Waves of Gray Neuro-Oncology Endowment that supports research programs through Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center in Jacksonville, Florida. Your support means so much because 100% of our proceeds will go directly for research to find a cure for brain cancers.
Some facts about Glioblastoma and other brain cancers:
Your registration fee includes: a light breakfast, 18 holes of golf, an awards luncheon, and a skills package with hole in one prizes on all par three holes and closest to the pin. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, and last place teams in each flight, plus each golfer will receive a tee bag and a replay certificate. Your registration must be received by October 18 and no refunds will be issued after that date.
Our golf tournament is one way we can support the brain tumor community to defeat this horrible disease. Even if you can’t join us at the beautiful St. Johns Golf & Country Club on October 23, 2023, please consider a donation to this deserving cause. Many people are depending on research to find a cure. We hope you will join us for a fun filled day!
Some facts about Glioblastoma and other brain cancers:
- An estimated 94,390 people will receive a new primary brain tumor diagnosis in 2023.
- Glioblastoma is the most commonly occurring primary malignant brain tumor, accounting for 14.2% of all tumors and 50.1% of all malignant tumors.
- The median age at diagnosis for a primary brain tumor is 61 years.
- The five-year relative survival rate for glioblastoma, is only 6.9% and median survival is only 8 months.
- An estimated 26,940 will be malignant in 2023 and an estimated 18,990 people will die because of a malignant brain tumor in 2023.
- Brain cancer is estimated to be the 10th leading cause of cancer death in 2023 in all age groups.
